Janet began her teaching career in the Milwaukee school system and then moved to Green Bay, WI where she taught for over 30 years at Baird Elementary School. She truly enjoyed the children, parents and staff there, making many lifelong friends. She also taught English as a second language to Spanish students when she retired.

She was a long time member and past Queen of Daughter's of the Nile - Green Bay, which benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children. She was also involved in Service League for many years.
Janet loved to dance and was a member of Dance Club. She enjoyed all types of dances, but especially the jitterbug. Janet was in a book club and loved reading, especially anything about the Packers in the newspaper. She was a die-hard Packer fan, season ticket holder, and never missed a game. She could play bridge 24/7 and at one time was playing cards in three different groups with friends and neighbors. She enjoyed golfing at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Seymour and even got a hole-in-one. Janet loved to travel the 50 states and Europe. Florida in winter was a given. She was an animal lover and had a cat by her side her whole life.
Janet adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment she spent with them. When they would visit, they enjoyed holiday baking, going to the New Zoo, Bay Beach, or The Wild Life Sanctuary. She loved attending their sporting events and was the best grandmother a child could ask for.
