John H. Davis

Ashwaubenon - John Haymaker Davis passed away on April 3 of 2021 at the age of 97, in Green Bay. He was born to Arthur and Faith (Smith) Davis Sr. on April 26, 1923 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He married Kathleen Hendricksen on November 27, 1976.

John will be remembered as a kind and gentle man. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Green Bay and sang in the choir. He loved music and enjoyed listening to Kathy play the organ and also to family members playing their instruments and singing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed boating, piloting his plane, and snowmobiling as well as camping with their motorhome on weekends. As a young man he enjoyed riding his Harley.

He attended Bethel Academy before being drafted into the Navy in 1944.

In 1946, after serving in the Navy he attended Emmanuel Missionary College.

John established along with his father and brother, Art, Davis Insulation & Supply in 1947. In 1952 Davis Construction was added and then later in 1956, Form & Pour, and Concrete Forming Accessories. D & G Excavating was added in 1960.

Survivors include his wife Kathleen (Hendricksen) Davis, two sons and one daughter, John L. Davis, High Springs, FL, Kent (Patti) Davis, Suamico, WI, Lynn (Ronald Sr.) Klemp, Appleton, WI; six grandchildren, Ronald (Katie) Klemp Jr., North Las Vegas, NV, Melissa Klemp, Grand Junction, CO, John Tomas (Becky) Davis, Ft. Alachua, FL,

Kent Michael Davis, Green Bay, WI, Joelle (Brent) Rogers, Pavo, GA, Brianna Davis (Sohrab Mirmont), Salt Lake City, UT; seven great grandchildren, Ashra and Elijah Klemp, Ariel Davis, Waylon, Brooklyn, Wyatt Rogers and Persia Mirmont; nephew James Davis (Carol Burks); brother and sister-in-law Keith and Judy Hendricksen, brother-in-law Jerry Hendricksen.

John was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Faith (Smith) Davis Sr., his brother and sister-in law, Arthur and Neva Davis Jr., his daughter-in-law, Joyce (Nygaard) Davis and father and mother-in-law, Forrest and Florence Hendricksen, brother-in-law, Wayne Hendricksen, and sister-in-law Ginger Hendricksen.

Friends may call after 12:00 pm Friday, April 9 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Green Bay, where a Service of Remembrance will take place at 1 pm, officiated by Pastor Bill Ochs. Interment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.

John was one of the kindest men I have met - a true gentleman. I feel blessed to have known him over the years and will always remember his sweet smile. Sending prayers of comfort and peace along with a big virtual hug to Kathy.
