John Louis "Jack" Hill

Suamico - John Louis "Jack" Hill, 74, Suamico, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021. He was born on September 11, 1946, in Cato, WI to Louie and Stella (Dugan) Hill.

After graduating from Reedsville High School, Jack entered the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Upon returning from the war, he met the love of his life, Donna Leiterman, and they married on November 29, 1968. He then went on to college at UW-Oshkosh and Badger Business College. Together they opened and ran The Airport Gift Shop in the Green Bay and Appleton airports. They recently celebrated 50 years in business.

Jack was really an entrepreneur, opening many businesses most notably Pepperkorn Bros., Inc. (aka. PBI) in Manitowoc, WI which he ran successfully for over 25 years. Additionally, he sold Packers souvenirs outside Lambeau Field and Badgers souvenirs in Madison for many years. Jack spent much of his family time in Sturgeon Bay, on the boat.

He was a devoted husband and ever attentive father and grandfather. Jack supported and encouraged his beloved family in every endeavor. His faith was a big part of his life and he and Donna have been members, and still are, at SS. Edward and Isidore Parish for over 45 years.

Survivors include his loving wife, Donna; their children, Scott (Michelle) Hill, Lori (Eric Wilson) Hill, and Derrick (Pamela) Hill; grandchildren, Gavin, Luna, Olivia, Eric Jr., Estella, and Isabella; his brother, Tom (Judith) Hill; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Donna (Lyle) Biely; and an infant brother, William.

Visitation will be at SS. Edward and Isidore Catholic Church, 3667 Flintville Rd., from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday; followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Hoffman officiating. The mass will be live-streamed and may be watched on this link: https://www.facebook.com/Ss-Edward-Isidore-Church-562136803967841 . Burial will take place in SS. Edward & Isidore Cemetery. With concerns for the coronavirus, masks are required and must be worn properly completely covering the nose and mouth; and social distancing be respected. Expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com, or cards may be sent to Blaney Funeral Home to the attention of John Hill's family and they will be forwarded.

Donna and family,
I just saw this today. I am so sorry to hear about Jack's passing! I have known you and Jack, since I moved to Green Bay, in 1990 and always considered you both of the HAPPIEST and NICEST people, that I have known here!
Peace and many more healthy and happy years to you all.

Dear Donna,

I am so sorry to hear of Jack’s passing. We very much enjoyed our time chatting and getting to know you both last summer in Frankfort. I can not forget Jack trying to get the dingy back on the boat while we we crossing the lake to come home. What an adventure! I am praying for Jack, you and your family. I will miss seeing him around the marina he was such a kind and gentle soul.

Jack and Donna Hill are two of the most sincere and nicest people I ever had the pleasure to work with and we had fun at the same time. I know how proud Jack was that they celebrated 50 years of marriage together and how lucky he was. To the family, remember the Dr Seuss quote - “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” Sorry I cannot join you today because of my health issues, but enjoy the celebration of Jack’s life and his love for everyone he saw.

I've known Jack for over 60 years. I just talked to him about six weeks ago after I read the nice story that was written about their 50 years in business at the airport. Great friend, entrepreneur, and successful businessman. Donna and family, you're in our thoughts and prayers.

Oh my goodness Donna,
The last time we met at Eddy Whips, Jack and I reminisced and laughed about growing up. I cry today about our discussion regarding retirement which I did not want and he also refused to consider. Our Sweet Jesus decided Jack’s work is done on this Earth and it’s time to “retire.”
