I knew John through the YMCA in Howard, first as a Zumba participant, and later as an instructor. I called John the 'Zumba Welcome Wagon' because he always arrived first, greeted everyone new, learned their name, and promoted the program. He definitely knew more members' names than I do! It was always a joy to see him and talk with him in class. His personality was so warm and kind. Super fan, promoter, greeter, caterer, organizer, friend-- he was all these things and more for us. He will be missed.

Thank You John for supporting the Rescue Squad. I was a member in the early 70's,
John treated us with some great rib eyes at his cottage.

As all great people in this world, and John is most definitely one of them, he will be so missed, and it will take many of us to try and to fill his shoe. Thanks John for all the work you have done behind the scenes that on one knew about.

John has been coming to my Zumba class since I first started teaching nearly four years ago. He gave so much of his time and energy to Zumba and the YMCA. John was the first to greet every new person to enter Zumba class. He loved meeting new people. He was sincere and caring. I feel lucky to have known him, and even luckier to call him my friend. Class will never be the same without you John.

John was a very sweet and thoughtful man who always went out of his way to say hello to me and brighten my day. He was my Zumba buddy and my time there at the Y will not be the same without his smiling face. God Bless his family and all who loved this wonderful man!

I met John 2 years ago at the West side Y. I would see him in the early mornings on the days he went to Zumba classes he would make a point to smile and wave to me while I was on the treadmill or to come over and chat with me. He was such a sweetheart. He will be so very missed by many.
