Joyce M. Micksch, 82, Green Bay, peacefully entered eternity into the arms of her husband on Valentine's Day. Born in De Pere, October 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Clement and Elvira "Vi" (Marquardt) Leanna. Joyce married John "Jack" Micksch on May 21, 1949, in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2008. She worked at St. Vincent Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1985. In 1982, Joyce was named ABWA's business woman of the year. She was also the recipient of the 1997 Gaudium et Spes Award from the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay for her work establishing the Hmong Center. Joyce was an active member of her parish belonging to several organizations, serving on various committees and singing in the choir. She was an avid Badger and Packer fan. Joyce enjoyed traveling, spending many winters in Arizona and Las Vegas. She also enjoyed gambling, sewing, and reading. Joyce was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary for Sullivan Wallen Post 11.

Joyce is survived by six children and their spouses, Leah Harad (fiance', Houston McWhirter), Gerard (Jeanette) Micksch, James (Linda) Micksch, Theresa (Jeff) Aronson all of Green Bay, Melissa (Shawn) Sumnicht of Appleton, and John (Lisa) Micksch of Green Bay; 11 grandchildren, Heather (Mike) Lindsley, Jamie (Teri) Micksch, Stephanie (Daniel) Cravillion, Paul (Michelle) Micksch, Patrick (Jenny) Micksch, Jerrod Menger, Fred (Renee) Menger, Sean (Amanda) Micksch, James Bieritz, Corrinne Bieritz, and Kristopher Micksch, 21 great grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie (Gerrit) Janssen of Kimberly; one brother-in-law, Thomas (Charlotte) Micksch of Green Bay; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bill Harad.

Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird St, Sunday from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Parish wake service 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation to continue Monday morning at the funeral home from 10 A.M. until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass 11:00 A.M. Monday at Saints Peter and Paul Church with Rev. Dean W. Dombroski officiating. Entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Visit to send an online condolence to the family.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of St. Vincent Hospital, 9th Floor, Unity Hospice, Bellevue Senior Living and all of her BINGO buddies.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.
