Green Bay - Marina R. Gerstner, 98, of Green Bay, died Thursday, June 7, 2018, at her home in her sleep following a brief illness. She was born November 3, 1919, in Walhain, to the late William and Anna (Rank) Deterville.

Marina married Lawrence "Larry" Gerstner on January 21, 1942, at St. Amand Catholic Church in Walhain. She enjoyed needlework, gambling, gardening, weekly card games, saying the Rosary, and since her husband Larry's passing on June 8, 1999, taking annual trips to California to visit her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her two great-great-grandchildren. Marina was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Community.

Marina is survived by her two sons, Ken (Jean) Gerstner, Huntington Beach, CA; Bob (Joann) Gerstner, Green Bay; her three daughters, Karen Martino, San Diego, CA; Carolyn (Gary) Smith, Huntington Beach, CA; Christine Renard, Green Bay; her ten grandchildren, Gary (Robyn) Gerstner, Crystal (Pat) Estes, Michael (Angie) Martino, Christopher Martino, Tricia Bazal, Troy Smith, Jason (Jennifer) Gerstner, Justin Gerstner, Melissa Renard (special friend, Chad Knight), Kimberly (Mike) Verriden, her ten great-grandchildren, Candis (Sean) Dishong, Dustin Gerstner, Ian Martino, Rea Bazal, Kendal Estes, Keira, Lauren, and Miles Gerstner, Mason and Cameron Verriden; her step-great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Will Liskey; her two great-great-grandchildren, Kinley and Luke Dishong; her sister, Marcella Pieschek; two brothers, Richard Deterville (special friend, Angie), Donald (Lillian) Deterville; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter, Heather Renard; her brothers, Ervin, Leroy, Harold; her sisters, Bertha Laluzerne, Armella Vandermuse, Donna Koss; and many relatives and friends.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may also call at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Road, on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Daniel Viertel officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. On-line condolences may be sent to the Gerstner family at www.prokowall.com.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial has been established in Marina's name to benefit Prince of Peace Catholic Community.

Marina's family extends a sincere word of thanks to Dr. Gray, nurse Brenda, the staff of Home Instead, and her nieces Patty and Lisa for their outstanding care.
