Carlson, Ruth C.

Ruth C. Carlson, 84, Allouez passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Odd Fellow Nursing Home with her family by her side. On September 4, 1949 she married the love of her life Art Carlson at Bethel Lutheran Church to a standing ovation. They almost made it to 65 years but the 64 prior years were filled with love and devotion to each other. Ruth loved spending time in Door County with her family and especially liked visiting Whitefish Bay Dunes and being able to stick her toe in Lake Michigan. She was musically gifted and enjoyed singing and playing the piano. Ruth had many interests in life but her greatest joy came from caring for her family and being the greatest wife, Mom and grandma she could be.

Ruth is survived by her husband Art, Allouez; her children Steve Carlson, Wheaton Ill; Deb (Chuck) Faison, Eden Prairie, MN; Connie (Jon) Burggren, Green Bay; 4 grandchildren Danielle and Lydia Faison, Keegan (Amy) Burggren, Britta Burggren, one sister Mimi McClure, one sister-in-law Dolores Carlson. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church 321 S. Madison Street. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Julie Wrubbel-Lange officiating. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations may be made to either the Y.M.C.A Youth Program ~or~ to Grace Lutheran Church.
