Thomas A. "The Biebs" Biebel Obituary
Thomas A. Biebel "The Biebs"

Naples - Thomas Arnold Biebel, "The Biebs," passed away in the arms of his loving wife Cheryl and surrounded by family on May 8, 2018. The son of Arnold and Ruth (Jauquet) Biebel was born April 30, 1940 in Green Bay.

The Biebs grew up the middle of three children, and attended St. John's Catholic Grade School. While in middle school, he played for the Junior Packers and traveled the country playing football. He attended Central Catholic High School and was a member of the first graduating class at Premontre.

He played football for three years at the University of St. Thomas, until after having an argument with the coach. He then signed up for the school play and got the lead role. Upon graduating with a degree in English, he was drafted into the Army.

The Biebs spent his career as a partner, President and Chairman of the Board at the Belson Company, and was proud to work for and with his father, who originally founded the company in 1932. In addition, The Biebs purchased Wisconsin Film & Bag in 1986 with his business partner Tom Hall. They sold the business in 1992.

He was a shareholder of the Green Bay Boys & Girls Club, and served as President for a number of years. He was involved in many other organizations, and was a very generous man with a big heart.

The Biebs was an avid handball player. He was a state champion and enjoyed playing at the Downtown YMCA. He also loved to golf, and told stories of golfing with Brett Favre and Ray Nitschke. He also enjoyed skiing, sailing, traveling, boating and partying with friends. His goal in life was to make people laugh. He was a uniquely dedicated Green Bay Packer fan and loved hosting friends at Lambeau.

Above all, family and friends meant most to The Biebs. He was a larger than life kind of guy, and dominated a room with his presence.

The Biebs is survived by his wife, Cheryl Greenwood Biebel; children, Krissi (Brett) Billups, Randy (Keli) Biebel; Cheryl's children, Adam and Cassy Greenwood; grandchildren, Truett Billups, Sean (Amanda) Billups, Brianna (Morgan) Kaemmerling, Katie Billups, Macall, Max, Madison, Mya and Macy Biebel. He is further survived by two great-grandchildren, Morgan Mark II and Justus Kaemmerling; sisters, Barbara (Tom) Kiedinger and Ginny (Jim) Waters and many nieces, nephews and other members of his extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Ruth.
