Emerine Kornaus, 74, Pulaski, died Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence following a long and courageous battle with cancer. The daughter of Albert and Helen (Cwiok) Kornaus was born July 6, 1939, in Pulaski. Emerine worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, including 25 years at St. Vincent Hospital. She was a lifelong member of Assumption B.V.M. Parish in Pulaski. She enjoyed people and life in general, and cared for everybody.

Survivors include two sisters: Helen Kornaus, Howard, and Susanne "Zanny" Lepak, Pulaski; one brother: Lloyd Kornaus, Bellevue; three sisters-in-law: Rose Kornaus, Baileys Harbor, Lois Kornaus, Pulaski, and Nancy Kornaus, Green Bay; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and brothers-in-law: Evelyn (Kenneth) Luebke, Rosemary (Doug) Johnson, Germaine Kornaus, and Richard Lepak; five brothers and three sisters-in-law: Leonard (Doris) Kornaus, Alvin Kornaus, Albert Kornaus, Jr., Joseph (Sarah) Kornaus, Cyril Kornaus, Raphael Kornaus, and Carol Kornaus.

Friends may call at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Wake Service at 3:30 p.m. The visitation continues at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 119 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church, Fr. Bob Konkol, O.F.M. presiding, and Fr. Brendan Wroblewski, O.F.M. concelebrating and homilist. Burial will take place in the spring in the parish cemetery.
