Willis, Billy R.

Billy R. Willis, 71, Green Bay resident, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 23, 2013. He was born on January 22, 1942 in Batesville, AR to the late William L. and Reedie W. (Nixon) Willis. Billy proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. On May 5, 1962, he married Shirley Lepak at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Hofa Park. He worked at Georgia Pacific for over 30 years in the maintenance department. Billy volunteered with the Special Olympics and was a generous blood donor to the American Red Cross where he donated over 10 gallons. He enjoyed fishing and was President of the Great Lakes Sport Fisherman Club for 16 years. Billy also enjoyed baseball and was a proud minority owner of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

He is survived by the love of his life of 50 years, Shirley, Green Bay; son, Brian (Robin) Willis, Green Bay; daughters, Lynn Williams, Suamico; Sue (Craig) Loberger, Denmark; grandchildren, Melissa and Nicholas Burger; Tyler, Jordan and Samantha Williams; Michael, Katie and Phillip Loberger; great grandchildren, Scott Burger and Harlem Robinson; brothers, Charles Willis, Batesville, AR; W.L. Willis, Bellflower, CA; Paul David Willis, Oak Hills, CA; Phineas Willis, Rosemead, CA; sisters, Lela Mae Lively, Templeton, CA; Georgetta Reeves, Batesville, AR; mother-in-law, Isabelle Lepak, Green Bay; and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St., from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Entombment will take place at the Fort Howard Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at
