Bentley, Dorothy J. (Chappelle)

Dorothy J. (Chappelle) Bentley, 88, Green Bay, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013, at a local hospital. She was born June 20, 1925, in Green Bay to the late William and Ruby (Vane) Chappelle. Dorothy was a graduate of West High School, Class of 1943. On September 13, 1947 she married Hugh Bentley. She was active at Resurrection Catholic Church where she was a member of the Hilltoppers and Bridge Marathon Group.

Her hobbies included playing bridge, needlework, bowling at Willow Creek on the Wednesday League and many years of golfing at Mystery Hills and Woodside. She was employed at St. Matthews Parish as a bookkeeper for over 20 years and was a Mary Kay Consultant in Green Bay.

Survivors include her four daughters; Jan (Loren) Swanson, Falcon Heights, MN; Mary Beth (Keith) Johnson, St. Paul, MN; Ann (Dan) Ringeisen, West Bend; Trish (Robert) Corey, Eagan, MN; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, Rita (Frank) Tolan, LaVerne (Robert) Coleman, Weston; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh in 2008 and a sister, Marvilyn Mathys.

Friends and family may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Lane. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
