WILBERFORCE — Chief Etsel A. (Ted) Wilson departed this life on January 5, 2021, at the age of 81. Etsel was born in Greeneville, Tennessee to the parents of Billie (Woodford) Wilson and Edsel Howard (Deck) Elder, reared by Jesse Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Terrence Wilson. Etsel is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 58 years, Dorothy Wilson; daughters, Shari (David) Lehmann and Pamela Atwater; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Michelle, Victoria, and Anthony; sisters, Marie Wells (TN), Tawana Cotner (TN), LaDonnia Leonard (NC) and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. Service for Etsel Wilson will be held on Friday January15,2021 at United A.M.E. Church 286 East Church Street, Xenia, Ohio. Walkthrough visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. until time of the service which will be at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dr. John E. Freeman officiating. Due to Covid-19, social distancing, face masks and venue limits required. Private Interment will follow at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wilberforce University or Hospice of Dayton in Etsel's memory.
