I was sorry to hear of Mr. Shiffletts passing. He was a wonderful and caring gentleman who loved everyone. Race did not matter to him. I remember when he made time to visit Uncle Luther in the nursing home. He patiently sit there and made conversation even when Uncle Luther didn't know he was there. He stood by Uncle Luther as being the first african american on the fire dept.i last waved at him as he was at the Stanardsville Baptist Church. He is at peace with hearing the words well done thy good and faithful servant. Thoughts and prayers to your family

Valerie, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I will never forget the kindness, joy, and comfort that Kenny brought to my mother "Doris" when she was alive. Kenny was a very special and gentile person who possessed a beautiful soul. Take comfort and strength from the beautiful memories the two of you shared and from the love of your family and friends during this time.
