Fricke, Mark
July 4, 1960 - October 11, 2021
Mark Kent Fricke, 61, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021, at Moses Cone hospital surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 16, at 3 p.m., at Wendover Hills Church.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Robert Alan Fricke.
Mark was a Ragsdale High School class of '79 graduate and a member of the 1978 state championship wrestling team. He also wrestled in college at Appalachian State, where he received his undergraduate accounting degree with honors. He received his master's degree in accounting from UNCG. Mark was a CPA and a CFP. He was a universal blood donor and previous member of the board of directors for the American Red Cross. Mark was a member of Toastmasters, a member of the Rotary Club, and was an integral part of CrossFit Versatile.
Mark is survived by his partner in love and life, Susan Gleason; his stepson, Ben Gleason (Casey) and grandchildren Reagan and Callie. Also surviving are his mother, Patricia Fricke; brothers, Robert Fricke (Lisa), Dr. Jeff Fricke (Velvet), Greg Fricke, and Gary Fricke (Andrea); nieces and nephews, Robert (Lindsay), Sarah (Ryan), Bruce, Erik, Jennifer (Anthony), and John; great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Linda Royal; many friends, family members and his CrossFit family.
Memorial contributions may be left to Guilford County Humane Society, 4525 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 or the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839.

My wife Miki and I knew Mark well from our years at Club Fitness. We worked out with him often. He was a great guy; always a source of inspiration, encouragement, and smiles. We held him in high regard and pray that his memory will be a blessing.
