Pete Abdo
Taylors
Pete Abdo passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 9th, 2012. He was 91 years old.
Pete was born in Lawrence, Mass. He grew up in West Palm Beach, FL, attending St. Ann's School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he faithfully served during WWII. Pete was a formidable drummer, which played throughout Palm Beach County. He began his professional career with Dictaphone Corporation. He ultimately formed his own Office Machine Company in 1962, and through hard work and by treating people fairly was able to grow it to be a very successful business throughout the South Florida area. Pete retired in 1985 and continued giving back to his community through his longtime membership with the WPB Rotary Club and St. Juliana's Church. Pete loved life and one of his favorite sports was playing golf.
Pete married Charlena in St. Ann's Church and shared 43 wonderful years together before Charlena's passing in 1997. They had two children, Charlie and Peter, and through their sacrificial love and devotion created a happy family life. They spent years working and enjoying life in the area with close family and friends. They spent their summers in North Carolina enjoying the mountains.
Pete had a joyful life surrounded by family, friends, and business associates who were attracted to his kindness, wit, and optimism.
Pete is survived by sons, Charlie and wife, Lisa, of Greenville, SC, Peter and wife, Maria, of London; grandchildren, Natalie, Benjamin, Joshua, Sophia, Christopher and Carolina. He is further survived by two great grand-children and many loving and devoted nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Pete was a special and caring gentleman. He was always cheerful and caring. I knew he loved his house on the hill overlooking the lake in North Carolina. I am glad he got to spend some quality time there.

Dear Charlie and Peter:
Please accept my sincerest sympathies for the loss of your beloved father, Peter. I met him several times while I was teaching at Cardinal Newman from 1972 to 1974. Your dear mother, Charlene, introduced us. What a wonderful legacy he leaves as an example for us to follow. I will celebrate Mass for both of your beloved parents at the Catholic Chapel at Camp Walker, Daegu, Korea. Requiescat in pace!

Dear Charlie and Peter,
I will remember my cousin as a kind, sincere man with a great sense of humor and a big smile. Always positive and upbeat. Pete and Sage were both the coolest people I knew. I always loved to be around them as I believe everyone else did also. I remember listening/dancing to "The Abdomen". Good times.
Pete left us all with a lot of fond memories.

"GOD GAVE US MEMORIES SO THAT WE MAY HAVE ROSES IN DECEMBER."
THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES, MANY PEOPLE COME AND GO, BUT ONCE IN A WHILE A VERY SPECIAL PERSON COMES INTO OUR LIVES, AND TOUCHES OUR HEARTS."PETE' WAS ONE OF THOSE VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE.
THERE IS NO GREATER GRIEF THAN TO LOOK
BACK AND REMEMBER THE MANY DAYS OF JOY THAT WE SHARED. HOWEVER, AT THE SAME TIME WE WERE SO BLESSED TO SHARE HIS WONDERFUL FRIENDSHIP OF LAUGHTER, FUN,
AND MUSIC. EVERY TIME I HEAR A FRANK SINATRA SONG I THINK OF HIM, BECAUSE
HE AND MEL WOULD SING "FLY ME TO THE MOON" TO EACH OTHER MAKING UP THEIR OWN WORDS. INFACT, HE AND CHARLENA SANG THIS TO MEL IN THE HOSPITAL RIGHT BEFORE HE PASSED AWAY. TRUE FRIENDS VISIT US IN PROSPERITY ONLY WHEN INVITED,BUT IN ADVERSITY,THEY COME UNINVITED.TEARS MAY DRY, BUT NEVER THE HEART.
"PETE" CELEBRATED LIFE AND THAT WAS WHAT MADE HIM SO MUCH FUN TO BE AROUND AND WHY HE HAD SO MANY FRIENDS. THE HAPPIEST PEOPLE OF ALL ARE THE ONES WHO
TAKE THE TIME TO ENJOY THEIR LIVES. THERE IS GREAT SATISFICATION KNOWING THAT THE PEOPLE WE LOVE HAVE LIVED THEIR LIVES SO FULLY.
A MAN CAN HAVE NO GREATER EPITAPH THAN THAT WHICH IS INSCRIBED IN HEARTS OF HIS FRIENDS. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES "PETE" AND THANK YOU FOR BLESSING US WITH YOUR FRIENDSHIP.
MY CONDOLENCE TO ALL YOUR FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Uncle Pete, as I loved him and knew him, will always carry a special place in my heart and the hearts of our family. I will always cherish the memories I have of my childhood spending evenings on the weekends in their home on Pine Road as well as the Grant Seafood Festivals and time spent with the Cobles.
Also growing up with Peter and fish sticks at our house.
I love you Uncle Pete.

He was a great grandfather, full of love, humor and kindness. We shared many great times together, and even if he didn't feel like doing something or going somewhere, he always did it without complaint. I loved his jokes, when outside by the barbecue, out on the boat with his family, or even at the restraunts whilst finishing his greasy rack of ribs.
He lived a long and happy life with loving friends and family.

Pete was one of my favorite people in the world. He was kind, funny, generous and wise. He was first a friend of my parents having gone to St Ann's together, and became a friend of mine through the Church. I'll always remember his smile and kind words he had about everyone. The world has lost a good man but it's heaven's gain.
