Gilbert Linwood Chaney
Simpsonville
Gilbert Linwood Chaney, 84, of Simpsonville, husband of Betty Chaney, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, November 10, 2012.
Born in Farmington, ME, he was a son of the late Merle and Inez Chaney.
Mr. Chaney was a retired police officer and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Simpsonville.
Surviving, in addition to his loving wife, are three daughters, Brenda Bate, Mary Ferro, and Marty McMindes; a son, Daniel Chaney; fifteen grandchildren; and a brother, Norman Chaney.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Altizer Hall, in Simpsonville. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Entombment will be private.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3810 Grandview Drive, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
The family will be at the residence.

I worked with Gil, through the 1980's, at the Burlington Police Departemnt. he was always a kind and thoughtful police officer who loved to help people.
