Charles Hall Phillips
Greenville
Charles Hall Phillips, 82, of Greenville, widower of Jessie Mae Gilbert Phillips, died Thursday, September 12, 2013.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late William Franklin and Olive Mae Duncan Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was a member of the first 12th grade graduating class of Parker High School. He retired from Monaghan Mills after 57 years of service. He was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church where he attended the Circle of Friends Sunday School Class and was an active member of the choir. He was a Boy Scout, Scout Master who received the Order of the Arrow and an avid vegetable gardener and Atlanta Braves fan.
Charles was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by daughters, Cathy Williams (Jimmy) of Gastonia, NC, Margie Payne (Wayne) of Woodstock, GA, and Dotti Phillips of Greenville; sons, William Phillips (Mary) of Honea Path and Sam Phillips (Sue) of North Lauderdale, FL; sister, Margaret Scheimur of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and loving wife of 61 years, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 16, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Monaghan Baptist Church Choir, 1500 West Parker Road, Greenville, SC 29617.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Charles's death. Heaven just got another angel! He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and Friend to everyone that knew him. He will be truly misses! Our thoughts and prayers are you at the difficult time and the days ahead!
