Beatrice Bennett

Beatrice Bennett, 93, widow of Clyde E. Bennett, passed away peacefully Monday morning, June 10, 2013 at her home.
Born in Oconee County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Eli Marshall and Janie Bearden McCrary.
At the age of 18, Mrs. Bennett was the youngest owner of a beauty salon in the state. After her marriage, she became a homemaker and was always active in following her daughters' interests, working in her yard and tending to her flowers. With a spirit of adventure, she was an avid traveler having visited 50 countries and in her later years taking more than 20 cruises. She was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church for 60 years where she taught a children's Sunday School Class and was active in the WMU and more recently joined First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Bennett, of Greenville and Jane Bennett Perry and her husband, Bill of Conover, NC; her granddaughter, Cynthia Triplett and her husband, David of Lincolnton, NC; and her faithful cat, Buddy.
Services for Mrs. Bennett will be Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 3:00pm at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Richard Gibbons,Reverend Dr. Pamela Patrick Cole and Reverend Dr. Tracy Jessup officiating. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45pm Sunday in the parlor of the church.
Memorials may be sent to the Music Fund of First Presbyterian Church, 200 W. Washington Street, Greenville, SC 29601.
