Carol Masters Obituary

Carol P. Masters

Taylors

Carol Parker Masters, of Taylors, joined the Communion of Saints on Sunday, January 13, 2013.

Those carrying on her legacy of love include her husband, Rev. Dr. Al Master of Taylors, daughter, Rev. Ashley-Anne Masters of Chicago, IL, and son-in-law, Rev. Reggie Weaver of Chicago, IL.

She faithfully and courageously lived with breast cancer for the last thirty years and personified the word "survivor". Her life overflowed with deep gratitude to God and she thrived on caring for others.

A worship service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church in Greer, SC, where she served as a Deacon. Her family will greet friends at the church at 12pm prior to the 2pm service.

Al and Ashley-Anne are thankful for the compassionate medical staff that so skillfully cared for her, especially her devoted oncologist, Dr. Joe Stephenson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to: Cancer Center of the Carolinas, 900 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605, First Presbyterian Church, 100 School Street, Greer, SC, 29651 or Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, 225 E. Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to know Carol Masters. She was one of the kindest and genuinely thoughtful people I've ever met. I'm recalling so many conversations I had with her in the last few years. I was always amazed at the details she would remember from previous chats. My thoughts and prayers are with Al, Ashley-Anne, and Reggie.
