James "Jamie" Donald McAlister Jr.
Taylors
James "Jamie" Donald McAlister Jr., 42, of Taylors, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 28th, 2013.
Born in Atlanta, GA, the son of Paulette Humphries and the late James Donald McAlister Sr., he is fondly known around the Upstate simply as "Jamie Mac." He was a talented musician and singer who entertained thousands while hosting trivia shows, karaoke, and doing Deejay services for many businesses and private parties throughout the state.
Jamie Mac was full of life and determined to enjoy it. Often seen in the company of his friends or family, Jamie was known on several occasions to jump on stage with other entertainers (often without invitation) and jam with them. His energy was contagious as he made sure that everyone in the room was having a good time. He was always the life of the party and will be dearly missed by many.
Surviving are his mother; his sisters, Kimberly Wynn, Donna Karrer and Debbie McAlister; his brothers, Jeffrey McAlister and Chris Humphries; uncle, Ed "Tinker" Cole; godparents, Ralph and Cheryl Hardeman; and his beloved girlfriend, Kelley Jones.
The family wishes to thank the Green Team with the Hospice of Northeast Georgia.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 1, 2013, at 12:30 at Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church. Visitation will follow the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Inc., 2150 Limestone Parkway, Suite 222, Gainesville, GA 30501.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
Am sorry for the family and will miss Jamie very much. He was a good friend and will miss seeing him and him singing.

God puts us in places for a reason. You entered my life when I needed confidence. You gave that to me through singing karaoke and allowing me to duet with you and your amazing voice. After many years of absence, I tried so hard to find you again. And I just happened to be in Greenville Monday night when they had a special party for you. I was there - and I pray that you somehow know that. I've missed you for so long and am saddened I didn't get the chance to tell you that in person and say "Hi" just one more time....one more song. You are forever in my heart, and I was blessed to be your friend. Until we meet again...Gretchen

Sweet brother-in-law, you are loved and missed. I'm so thankful for the years we were able to spend with you. Your laugh and energy was infectious. Will sure did love his Uncle Mac and you were always so proud of both him and Ella Grey. You're always dear to our hearts, sweet man. Looking forward to hugging you again one day and hearing your voice.

"Jamie, Even though you were my Brother-in-Law for only 5 years, I will always remember how nice you were to me when we visited, and how you, Paulette and Kim so easily accepted and welcomed me into your family. I will always remember the time when we tagged along with you to one of your DJ gigs and I got to hear you sing to the crowd....what an incredible voice you had. You will be missed."

Jamie,
Even though I have not seen you in some time. I still think of you often, and always will. Sometimes, I run across something of your Dad's here..a pic, a CD, a hat and I think of the amazing love Don had for his children. I have spoke often of the greatest love for his children I have ever witnessed was the love that Don had for his kids. I am sure there was a joyous celebration when
he met you with open arms in heaven. RIP
