My Farewell Poem to My Aunt Bessie Overa Sutton
Homecoming Wednesday, Novemeber 14, 2012 today
By Barbara Diann (Williams)Stafford
B irth, we are joyful of, while death, we still fear
E very believer knows it does not stop here
S o many tears are shed as our loved one journeyed ahead
S ouls lives on, we buried only the flesh of our dead
I may not be able to say the right word to comfort you
E very man grieves because it the thing you compel to do
O nly for a moment, the Lord gave; now the Lord has taken
V ery, very, I said to you, in the kingdom, this child of the Lord
has awaken
E ase your pain in the comfort of prayers and the love of the Lord
R ise, family, for every believer will rejoin one day to be under
one accord
A ngels rejoice as the Almighty takes under his wings our loss
S urely Jesus did intercede for us when He gave his life on
the cross
U nderstand the Word and let your faith lift up your face
T rust in the Lord and know that she has gone to a greater
place
T his is the day of the Lord, believer, do not weep
O pen your eyes and see with your faith that she is only asleep
N o more wept here; the Shepherd has gathered another of his
sheep
