Carl Cockfield, Sr.


Carl Woodrow Cockfield, Sr., 72, formerly of 108 Camden Drive, Piedmont, husband of Deborah Suttles Cockfield, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 22, 2013 at his home.

Born in Greeleyville, SC, he was a son of the late Woodrow and Johnnie Bradham Cockfield. He was twice married, first to the late Elizabeth Betty Cockfield, his loving wife of thirty-four years. He was also predeceased by two friends of sixty-five years, Edward and Linda Coker. He was a U. S. Army veteran and was the owner and operator of Tiger Construction Service for seventeen years. He was a loving and caring husband and father and was well respected in the community.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Carl "Bo" Cockfield, Jr. (Cyrstal), of Williamston; daughters, Linda McCollom (Mac), of Piedmont, and Nichole Cockfield (David), of Greenville; step-son, David Jones (Sylvia), of San Antonio, TX; step-daughter, Robin Blanco, of North Charleston; sister, Margaret Spollazzo, of Auburn, NY; thirteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Esther McCollom.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Carpenter's House with burial following at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
