Dorothy David Browning, 88, wife of William Davis Browning, Sr. of 7 Stone Lake Court, passed away Wednesday morning, November 21, 2012.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Louis St. John David and Mary Elizabeth Hull David and was the granddaughter of noted Greenville journalist Charles A. David.

Dot was a 1940 graduate of Greenville High School and she attended Furman University. She was a charter member of Northside United Methodist Church and was a member of the Greenville Women's Club and Stone Lake Garden Club. She will be remembered as a gracious and loving lady who was devoted to her family and friends.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her sons, William Davis Browning, Jr. and Louis David Browning and his wife, Le Anna, all of Greenville; and her beloved grandchildren, Dan Browning (Kirsten), Paul Browning (Sonya), Rebecca Browning and James-Blue Browning; and a great-granddaughter, Madison. She was predeceased by her brother, James Blue David.

Services will be held Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 3 o'clock at The Mackey Mortuary with the Reverend Stan Johnson and Reverend Don Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Springwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pendleton Manor for their loving care given to Dot.
