John E. (Jack) Eckenrode

John E. (Jack) Eckenrode passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 9, 2014. John graduated from Michigan State University in 1950 and was a lifelong Spartans fan. He was a Korean War era veteran of service in the U. S. Army and enjoyed a long career in the automotive industry in Detroit, Michigan. He retired to Seneca, S. C., in 1992, where he continued a lifelong passion for golf and was an enthusiastic member of the Golden Corner Chorus, where he sang in a barbershop quartet. In 2013 he relocated to Traverse City, Michigan.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marilyn, to whom he was married for 57 years until her passing in 2007. He is survived by his sister, Jane Mills; three sons, Peter (Bonnie), David (Connie), Jim (Ellen); seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating a life well lived will be held at a later date for this well respected and kind gentleman.
