Wayne "Mr. T" Ternes
Mauldin - Wayne Robert "Mr. T" Ternes, Sr., 82, of Mauldin, husband of Melanie Ann Hanson Ternes, died Friday, June 8, 2018.
Born in LuVerne, Iowa, he was a son of Lawrence A. and Mildred Kollasch Ternes.
Mr. Ternes served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and enjoyed cards, playing pool and spending time with his family. Wayne was also the owner and operator of Mr. T's Family Billiards in Mauldin for 28 years.
In addition to his loving wife of 55 years, he is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Boeyer (Jim), and Angela Tanner; two sons, Robert Wayne Ternes (Arlis) and Wayne Robert Ternes, Jr. (Melissa); four grandchildren, Mel Boeyer, Shea Tanner, Allen Ternes (Kristen), and Benjamin Ternes; two great granddaughters, Holly and Ryleigh; two brothers, Lawrence and Leroy Ternes; and one sister, Linda O'Brien.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ternes was preceded in death by five siblings.
A Vigil will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. with the visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 12:10 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. in M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, or the St. Vincent DePaul Ministry, both at 8 Gillin Drive, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
