Phyllis Berry

Greenville - Phyllis Nadine Brown Berry, age 89, widow of the late Thomas Jarvis Berry, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018.

Born in Asheville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Charles Layfette Brown, Jr. and Della Sue King Brown. Mrs. Berry was retired from People's National Bank following over 20 years of service in the loan department. She was a member of Earle Street Baptist Church and a faithful listener of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. She was a member of Senior Action, the Red Hat Society, Life Wise, and Credit Women International.

Mrs. Berry is survived by a daughter, Pam Berry; and loving nieces, Becky Hartness and Lynn Comen. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Porter R. Brown; and a sister, Frances M. Greenway.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Mackey Funerals & Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. A graveside service will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VFW Post 9539 Auxiliary, Attn. Josephine Hillstock, 325 Carolina Drive Ext., Roebuck, SC 29376, or McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
