Janie Pauline "Polly" Carver Thomas, 84, of 514 Robin Drive, wife of the late Robert Earle Thomas, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Mariner Health Care.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Oconee County, daughter of the late Andrew Brown and Zora Belle Cox Carver. She was retired from the Kendall Co. and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Janie P. Powell of Seneca and Ardath Widmann of Jupiter, Fla.; four sons, Thomas Milton Putnam of Gainesville, Fla., Anthony Putnam of Easley, Aaron Putnam of Seneca and Paul David "P.D." Putnam of Salem; a sister, Anna Thomas of Seneca; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Thomas was predeceased by her first husband, Elbert Paul Putman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the Chapel of Seneca Mortuary by the Rev. Marvin Lee. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Seneca Mortuary.
