Mary Brown Obituary

Mary Graham Brown, born May 16, 1915 in Rochester, N.Y., passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Easley Living Center, Easley, S.C. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Raymond Richard Brown; and her parents, Paul Gordon Graham and Ruth Strickland Graham.

Mrs. Brown moved to Keowee Key in Salem, S.C., in 1997, after having lived in the Poughkeepsie, N.Y. area for 53 years. Her positive and caring attitude, bridge and golf skills, her chocolate chip cookies, and her love for her family and friends, will be treasured memories for those who knew her through the years.

Surviving Mary Brown are her sons and their wives, Gordon Richard and Susan Adams Brown of Salem, S.C. and Gary Graham and Laura Wilder Brown of Pittsford, N.Y. In addition, she leaves her sister, Margaret Graham Toeppen, in Tucson, Ariz. Mary had six grandchildren, Lori Miles of Tampa, Fla., Rick Brown of Butler, Pa., Steve Brown of Alexandria, Va., Wendy Baird of Rochester, N.Y., Tim Brown of Austin, Texas, and Jeff Brown of W. Seneca, N.Y.; and five great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Courtney Miles, Alexander Brown, and Charles and Margaret Baird.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at 10 a.m., at Davenport Funeral Home, 311 South Hwy. 11, West Union, S.C., with Dr. Charles Dougherty officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary Graham Brown may be made to your favorite charity, or to hers: Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
