Frances Madge Cunningham Thomason, 91, formerly of 703 Ikes Road, Taylors, SC died on October 6, 2012 in Florence, SC. Born in Gastonia, NC, she was the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Gladys Mauldin Cunningham. She attended Averett College in Danville, Virginia and retired from Bigelow-Sanford. She was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ throughout her life.

Surviving are three sons, Richard Mauldin Thomason and wife Ann of Marshall, NC; Walter Pierce Thomason and wife Nina of Greenville, SC; Michael David Thomason and wife Christine of Darlington, SC; and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Thomason of Greenville, SC. She was predeceased by her husband Lee Edward Thomason, her son Lee E. "Tommy" Thomason, Jr. and her sister Libby Owen. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Lee E. "Chip" Thomason, III and wife Robyn of Asheville, NC; Micah T. Rogers and her husband Marty of Marshall, NC; Machen T. Meetze and her husband Keith of Charleston, SC; Sarah E. Thomason of Bethune, SC; Victoria "Tory" H. Thomason of Greenville, SC and Pierce B. Thomason of Greenville, SC; and five great-granchildren Alexis "Lexi" and Cole Rogers of Marshall, NC; Lee "Hunter" IV and Chase Thomason of Asheville, NC; and Landon Freeman of Bethune, SC. Mrs. Thomason is also survived by two special nieces, Gay Willis of Charlotte, NC and Sande Carroll of Myrtle Beach, SC, sister-in-law Mary Culbertson of Greenville, SC and a very special friend Jane McCravy of Greenville, SC.

Memorials may be made to Taylors First Baptist Church or Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina-Florence. The family will be at 510 Byrd Boulevard, Greenville, SC. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 10 at 3:00 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Greenville.

Madge Thomason was love.
