James L. (J.L.) Bolding


James Lee (J.L.) Bolding, 90, of John Street, passed away Sunday, February 09, 2014.

Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Samuel and Essie Lumpkin Bolding.

Mr. Bolding was retired from Piedmont Industries. He was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church, where he formerly served as a Deacon. He was also a US Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of the Keowee Masonic Lodge #79 A.F.M.

Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Swayngham Bolding; a son, Jonathan Lee Bolding and his wife, Kimberly of Williamston; a sister, Bobbie Pace of Pickens; and a brother, Donald Bolding of Pickens.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Joe, Norman and Fred Bolding; and three sisters, Betty Buckhannon, Rebecca Garrett and Edna Garrett.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to East Pickens Baptist Church Building Fund, 2244 Gentry Memorial Hwy., Pickens, SC 29671.
