Maxie Lee Cogsdill


Maxie Lee Cogsdill, 78, of 262 Lawson Hollow and husband of Christine Lawson Cogsdill, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at The Hospice House of Laurens County.

Born in Woodruff, he was a son of the late James Toy and Margaret Ethel Lusk Cogsdill. Retired from G.E., Mr. Cogsdill was a member of Lucas Ave. Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are: a son, Mark Cogsdill and wife Monica of Laurens; a brother, Robert Cogsdill of Taylors; sisters, Lynda Hall of Laurens and Sally Smith and husband Jewell of Piedmont; and a granddaughter, Anna Cogsdill.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Jimmie, Donnie, and Jack Cogsdill.

Funeral services will be held at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 29, 2014, conducted by Rev. Claude Todd with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary on Monday, July 28, 2014, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
