Arau, Eleanor
Eleanor (Ellie) Kittredge White Arau, 87, of Greenwich, CT died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at Greenwich Hospital.
Born in Woburn, Massachusetts in 1927 to James and Eleanor White, Ms. Arau attended Katherine Gibb school and worked at MIT before becoming one of the first female sales reps for General Foods' coffee division.
She lived in Chappaqua, NY before moving to Greenwich, where she happily resided for 42 years. She loved to travel, socialize, read, volunteer, do the NY Times crossword puzzles, and play bridge.
She was a strong, independent women, with a warm, passionate heart, fabulous sense of style, unapologetic sense of humor and an unforgettable, contagious laugh. She will be greatly missed.
Ms. Arau is survived by her daughter Eleanor Kittredge Arau Dippold of Freehold, NJ; son Anthony James Arau and daughter-in-law Barbara of Seattle, WA; granddaughters Samantha Kittredge Dippold Peluso and her husband Christopher of Clifton, NJ; Katherine Anne Dippold of Los Angeles, CA, and niece Candice Forster of North Hampton, NH.
The family is respecting her wishes for no memorial services. In recognition of her love for animals, memorial gift contributions may be made to the ASPCA (www.aspca.org).

As time goes by you remember but the pain is bearable. Ellie was a strong woman. And yes, I remember that laugh. Rip Ellie.
