Mary Rosso Obituary

Mary Rosso
Mary Josephine Rosso (Favano) died peacefully on June 12, at her home in Petaluma, California, at the age of 91 after a brief illness.
She was born on May 7, 1927 in Greenwich, Connecticut, to Italian immigrant parents, Frank and Grace (Romeo) Favano.
She met and married her husband, Anthony Rosso in 1952 while living in Miami, Florida, where she worked at Mercy Hospital as a medical typist.
After moving to Princeton, New Jersey, in 1954, she worked as a secretary in the Physics Department at Princeton University, occasionally alongside Dr. Albert Einstein, a professor there at the time.
She and Anthony have three children, Mary Antonia Rosso and Steve Rosso, both of Petaluma, and Mike Rosso of Salida, Colorado. The family relocated to Lawrence Township, New Jersey, in 1967 where Mary worked with the YMCA after-school kids' program.
In 2008, she and Anthony moved to Petaluma to be nearer to family members and their granddaughter, Olivia.
Mary loved swimming, traveling, shopping and orchids, and was always very considerate of family friends and guests, often encouraging them to stay and enjoy a meal and generously extending her hospitality. She was quick with a smile and enjoyed meeting new people. She was a big fan of the New York Yankees and, later, the San Francisco Giants.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony, 96, her three children, her granddaughter and many nieces and nephews throughout the U.S. and in Italy. A private memorial to celebrate her life is being held in Sonoma, California.
