William Dabney Obituary

WILLIAM HOWARD DABNEY JR.

An adored husband, father, son, brother and uncle, William Howard Dabney Jr. , died Saturday, January 5, 2008. He was 43 years old. A resident of Greenwich for 14 years, Billy graduated from Philips Exeter Academy in 1978, the University of Virginia in 1982 and the Darden School of Business in 1994. He worked at Dubin Clark & Co., Inc., for the last 14 years, having spent the five previous years in the United States Navy as a weapons officer on nuclear submarines. He leaves behind his wife, Andrea, of 12 1/2 years and his two daughters, Margaret Page, age 9, and Eleanor Davis, almost 7.

Additionally, his parents William and Virginia Dabney of Lexington, Virginia, his brother Lewis Puller Dabney and his family of Lynchburg, Virginia, and his sister Keane Dabney Kauders and her family of Richmond, Virginia, survive him. Billy was a man of scrupulous integrity and work ethic and his love for his family, for animals, for sailing and swimming will be among the many things his family and friends won't forget. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 14, at 11:00 am at Christ Church in Greenwich. A funeral at R. E. Lee Memorial Episcopal Church in Lexington, Virginia, will be Saturday, January 19, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the William Dabney Memorial Scholarship fund for his children.
