Arthur Patrick Schofield

ARTHUR PATRICK SCHOFIELD age 73 of Westbrook, died Thursday, September 1, 2011, at the U.S. Veteran's Hospital in West Haven. He was the cherished father of Debra Molony (Darren) and Guy Dennis. He was the proud grandfather of Peter Molony (Kelly) Jennifer Molony, and Dechristine Bozek (Dan). He will be dearly missed by his four great-grandchildren. Art was born December 11, 1937 in Port Chester, N.Y. to Michael and Dorothy (Mercier) Schofield. He grew up in the Byram section of Greenwich. Art was a U.S. Navy veteran and upon his return from active duty, he became a television and electronics technician for County TV and Appliance in Stamford. Art eventually moved to Westbrook in 1997. Art was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening in his spare time. He was also a lifelong fan of both the New York Yankees and the New York Football Giants. Art was certainly endowed with the gift of Irish wit. He brought laughter wherever he went and that joy will be sorely missed. Art's great love was reserved for his grandchildren who filled his life with pride and happiness and he cherished all the time he spent with them. Art is survived by his brothers, Michael Schofield and his wife, Margaret of Brooksville, Fla. and Leon Schofield and his wife, Harriet of Port Chester, N.Y. as well as his ex-wife, Nancy Schofield of Danbury. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Art's life will be held at 10 am Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry Street, Greenwich.
