EVELYN BJARNASON Obituary

Ev was born March 17th, 1922 at Sceptre, SK and passed away on Thursday, January 3rd, 2013. Ev enlisted in the Canadian Womens Army Corp. in Calgary in 1942, was a X-Ray Technician from 1943 to 1946, when she moved to Foam Lake to work in the hospital where she met and married Bryan Bjarnason in 1947. Bryan and Ev retired to Saskatoon in 1994. She was predeceased by her parents, Nicol and Gladys McVean; her brother, Don (Pat) McVean; and brother-in-law, Gordon Schettler. She leaves to mourn her husband of 65 years, Bryan; son, Arni (DeeDee) and three grandchildren, Leanne; Jaime (Todd Kaufman) and their children, Sophie, Riley and Anna; Christopher and his daughters, Taiya and Emry; daughter, Svava Bjarnason of Dubai; brother, Bruce (Iris) and their family; sisters, Kay Schettler and Elaine Goodridge and their families. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army of Saskatoon or to a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Ev's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7th, at Windsor Chapel, 704 Windsor Street (corner of 8th Avenue N and Windsor Street) wheelchair accessible.
