Still doesn't seem real.... growing up with the infamous Officer Davis you thought that Godly man was invincible. Time is so precious and we often take it for granted. He was such an inspiration and a PERFECT example of what all police officers should strive to be. He was not only an outstand officer but was a wonderful teacher and an amazing friend. My heart breaks not only for his family but to the individuals who will never meet him.. its an absolute honor to be able to say that I knew such an amazing man. Thank you Officer Mike Davis for teaching us about safety and for genuinely caring for all who crossed your path. May your sweet soul rest peacefully and may God comfort your family during such a tragedy.

I will always remember Officer Davis as a huge part of my childhood. He watched me grow up and go through Safety Town, he was my school resource officer in high school and I always visited him at the library. I made a special stop at the library to show him my newborn daughter and months later he remembered her name, as he always did. The world lost a great man. His legacy will last forever.

It's amazing to see a snapshot in this guest book of the lives Officer Davis touched. His presence will be sorely missed in this community, but his good work doesn't have to end with him. Remember to pay it forward. He was a wonderful man who taught us all a lot and would expect us to carry on his good works for the betterment of the community. Share his legacy.
My prayers to the family.

I knew Mike from high school, Class of 66, had not seen him since then, but I remember what an upbeat friendly person he was. He certainly seems to have found his calling in life. Few of us are so perfectly suited for what we do. His life seems to have been about as fulfilling as a life can be and his contributions as great as can be.

I met Mike when both of our moms were in rehab at Middletown Hospital. He became a friend that looked after both of my children at Wilson School. I later got to work with Mike on the Middletown Memorial Day Association Parade Committee. He was a valuable asset to the Committee and before he resigned his position he made sure we had someone that would be just as passionate as he was about the Parade, the Veterans and the safety of all. Thank you Mike and you will be missed by all who knew you..

As an educator, I was with Officer Davis many times at many schools in Middletown, no matter north side, south side, east side or west side and no matter parochial or public; Kids would gravitate to him like he was a human magnet. That my friends, tells you the kind of special person Officer Mike Davis was. So blessed to have known him, worked with him, and enjoyed our friendship. RIP buddy & watch out for Sleeping Lions.

Mike was a Great Man, Person and Officer.
I remember times when we had Safety Town at Town Mall. He was so liked by the public That we had to give his Safety Town display and class area it's own room to hold the crowd.

Shortly after Officer Davis had the cardiac arrest at Wildwood, I was at a local convenience store one morning. People were asking each other if anyone had heard about Officer Davis. Two young, still-wet-behind-the ears officers were there and one finally asked "What's so special about Officer Davis?" The clerk just looked at them for a moment and then said that he was everything a police officer should be.
She got it right.
Officer Davis, you will be missed a whole lot.
Prayers to the family I am sorry for your loss.

When me and my son first met Officer Davis was at Safety Town at Roosevelt school. Thought the years he was every where. The most memorable times was when I ask him if he could stop at my son
seventh birthday party. I can still see my son eyes light up like a Christmas tree when he walk in the gate. My son was on the school bus that that ran over that little girl. Officer Davis kept all the children calm and just did everything right. He is a Hero Icon and so much more. I could go on and on. L have so many memories and so does everybody else. R.I.P. Officer Davis. You will be missed and never forgotten. Heaven has got a good man. One of Middletown Finest.
