News Death Notice

IVEY SR., A.L. age 77, of Somerville, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Dayton VA Hospital. He was born February 22, 1935 in Hazard, KY to George and Martha (Hutchinson) Ivey Sr. He served our country during the Korean Conflict in the US Air Force and US Army with an honorable discharge. He was a bartender for the Orioles for 6 years. A.L. was a member of the Orioles, Eagles, American Legion Post #218, DAV, Moose and VFW. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy Ivey in 1994; 9 sisters and 5 brothers. A.L. is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Bill) Gault, Alta (Doug) Hampton, Renee (Don Neal) Patton; son, A.L. (Tammy Blevins) Ivey, Jr.; grandchildren, A.L. Ivey, III, Peggy Edwards, Brandy (Jagger Holly) Ivey, Misty Blevins, Summer (Dietrick Simpson) Tincher, David Gault; great-grandchildren, A.L. Ivey IV, Ashley Edwards, Alexander Blevins, Nakhya Simpson, Dae`Khyri Simpson and Carson Holly with Piper Holly on way, also survived by other loving family and friends. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, January 21, 2013 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Jerry Minor officiating.
