Jan was born April 4, 1939 in Hamilton, Ohio, where she lived until leaving for college at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. After college she moved to San Francisco, CA to teach elementary school. From there she moved to Guam, where she taught school and worked in a jewelry store. Returning to Ohio two years later, she completed a Master's degree at Miami University. In 1970 she met her future husband, Lee Miller, on March 30th. On May 30th they were married. She was interested in everything and always focused on others, never herself. Above all, she was a very loving person who loved to laugh, and this laugh was infectious, drawing people to her. Preceding here in death were her parents, Harold and Marjorie Augenstein of Hamilton, OH, except for a few years when they came to Albuquerque. She is survived by her loving husband, Lee, and her brother, Nick and his wife Sue of Grants, NM, and several nieces and nephews. After cremation her ashes are to be placed in the new Columbarium at Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church, which is located at 5301 Ponderosa Avenue NE. A Memorial Service will be held at the church on September 21, 2013 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers it is requested that contributions be made in her name to Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church.
