News Death Notice

HORNE, Ralph G. Age 88, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Garden Manor Retirement Village where he had resided for two years. He was born January 30, 1926 in Madison County, Kentucky, but lived in Middletown most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. Ralph was employed as a Sales Coordinator at Sorg Paper Company for 43 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and the V.F.W. Post 3809. Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Josephine (Long) Horne; his wife, Joan Fullen Horne in 1991; one son, Denny Horne; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by four children, Charles Horne, Joel Horne (Jenny), Mary Carol Horne, (Harvey Irion), and Pete Horne (Laura); three grandchildren, Andy Horne, Carolyn Horne and Emma Horne; two sisters, Mary Sorrell and Nancy Webster; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Military Services will be provided by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family at Woodside Cemetery.
