LEDFORD Sr., William Henry "Bill" age 92, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Daysprings Nursing Home of Fairborn. He was born March 24, 1921 in Red House, Kentucky. He served in the Army Air Corps during W.W. II, and reached the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, Test Pilot, and Flight Instructor. He flew several single engine planes and B Series Bombers from B-17 through B-29. Bill was a production manager for Armco Steel Corporation where he was employed for 42 years retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Breiel Boulevard First Church of God, and served as Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and a member of Jefferson Lodge #90 F. & A.M. Bill was an avid outdoorsman. Preceding him in death were his parents, Caleb and Tommy Daisy (Gilbert) Ledford; three sisters, Christine McNabb, Edna Dingman and Frances Stamper; and four brothers, Robert "Bob", Cecil, Harold, and Cale Ledford. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Melissa Ledford; two children, Bill Ledford, wife Pat; and Sherry Ledford; two grandchildren, Scott Ledford, wife Deana and Stephanie Hill, husband Jesse; five great grandchildren, Ashtyn, Elaina, Addyson, Mea, Olivia and one on the way. Visitation will be Monday, April 8, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Breiel Boulevard First Church of God, 2000 N. Breiel Boulevard, Middletown, Ohio 45042, followed by a Homegoing Celebration at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Wes Duff officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio, with Military services by Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Breiel Boulevard First Church of God. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
