William E. LARGER Obituary
LARGER, William E. "Bill" Age 67 passed away Tuesday night, August 7, 2018 at the Maria-Joseph Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He graduated from Chaminade High School in 1969. He received a BA in Philosophy in 1973 from St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN and had been in formation to become a priest in the Precious Blood Order. Bill was diagnosed with an illness shortly after graduation from college. He was given much to suffer throughout his lifetime, but he accepted it all with grace, humility, a smile and never questioned "why me". He was a member of Corpus Christi Church and then Our Lady of the Rosary where he sang in the choir and was an usher. He was an active member for 33 years in Council 3754 Marian Manor, Knights of Columbus and was just named "Knight of the Month" in April. Bill was an avid sports fan, especially the Cincinnati Reds, enjoyed bowling, pitching horseshoes, euchre, and traveling throughout the country visiting family and friends with his loving parents. He never forgot anyone he met and relished their friendship. He was preceded in death by his parents Al and Marcella Larger and sister, Lynn Wasserman. He is survived by his siblings, John (Nancy) Larger, Patty (Don) Hoendorf, Connie (Dean) Steinke, Walt Larger and brother-in-law Brian Wasserman; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM, Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Our Lady of the Rosary, 22 Notre Dame Ave. Dayton with Father Joe Kindel celebrant. Interment Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-8PM Monday at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home, 5555 Philadelphia Dr., Dayton, OH, 45415. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church or Missionaries of the Precious Blood, 431 E. 2nd St., Dayton, OH 45402 in Bill's memory.
