Doris COLVIN Obituary

COLVIN, Doris Jean 87, of Centerville, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Doris was born, in Dayton, to the late Albert and Florence (Ellerman) Upp on July 7, 1930. She went on to graduate from Fairview High School in 1948 and attended the Dayton Art Institute. She was a longtime member of the First Church of Christ Science in Boston, MA and also belonged to the Hithergreen Senior Center, in Centerville, OH. Doris had many passions in life including art, music, dancing, writing, and singing, but by far her most important was taking care of her children. Doris is preceded in death by her husband Dean Colvin; daughter, Cheryl Blommel; brother, Donald Upp; and father of her children, Donald Hawes. She is survived by her sons, Douglas and David Hawes; grandchildren, Leigh-Ann and Nicholas Blommel; and numerous extended family and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from 5-7pm, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering. A service will be held at 10am the following day, at Routsong. Inurnment at David's Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.routsong.com.
