Christian Albert Garbett, Sr. was born in New Orleans, LA, grew up in Ponchatoula, LA, and was a resident of Mandeville, LA. He passed away on June 16, 2021 at the age of 51.

Christian proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and earned his Louisiana Law license in 1999 after graduating from LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Christian loved being an attorney; so much so he was licensed to practice law in three states.

He began his career in Hammond, LA with Ron Macaluso Law Firm as a general litigator. Seeking more complex challenges, he took a position with King & Jurgens in New Orleans, where he had a successful 15-year tenure, and was a partner in the firm for 11 of those years. In 2019, Christian partnered with his longtime friends and colleagues to form the law firm Strauss Massey Dinneen, of which he was a founding member.

Christian excelled at being a lawyer; he was fearless, smart, and unequivocally committed to his clients and his work. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, vacationing with his wife and sons, was an avid sports fan and will be greatly missed by all.

Christian is survived by his wife, Joy Walker Garbett; sons, Christian Garbett Jr. and Collin Garbett; parents Frank and Sandra Garbett; siblings, Mark Garbett (Cheramie), Laurie Watt (Jeremy), Yvette Cline, Rachel Kampas (Leon); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dannie and Iris Walker, sisters-in-law, Shannon Parker (Lavell), Darlene Brecher (Ronald), and Jan Hickman (Ronnie); nieces and nephews, Claire, Ian, Molly, Jacob, Sean, Dean, Melissa and Hunter. Also survived by several great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent McCahill and a special Aunt Myrtle.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at the chapel of Brandon G. Thomson Funeral Home, 1190 Hwy 51 North, Ponchatoula, on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The service will begin at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Wetmore Cemetery.
