BRENDAL, Donald H.
Donald H. Brendal, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday (February 17, 2013) while in Hospice care in Hartford Hospital. Don was born October 3, 1920 in Glenwood, MN to Ole P. and Anna Pederson Brendal. Don was the youngest of six brothers all of who predeceased him. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering he went to work for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft from which he retired after 35 years. While there he held many senior management positions. He was most proud of his involvement in the development of the fuel cell to power the Apollo moon landing. In his retirement he pursued his many and varied hobbies and interests. Don is survived by his wife of 69 years, Meryl Hansen Brendal and their two sons John S. Brendal and Thomas D. Brendal and Thomas's wife Sarah.
In keeping with his wishes the service will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to the South Glastonbury Public Library, Post Office Box 169, S. Glastonbury, CT 06073.

My sincere sympothy in your loss of Husband and Father Don. He was my last uncle on the Brendal side of the family. I can remember several times years ago in Minnesota that our familys were together. He is going to be missed.

My Dad, John Patrick Kelleher, and I visited Don and Meryl a few years ago at their home. My Dad died in December 2011. I remember Don and Dad reminiscing about their youth in Glenwood. So sorry. Karen Kelleher
