RAMEZZANA, John J.
John J. Ramezzana, 81, of West Hartford, beloved husband of 41 years to the late Mary (Given) Ramezzana, died Saturday (December 8, 2012) at home surrounded by his family. Born in Hartford, son of the late Lorenzo and Katherine (Russo) Ramezzana, he was a resident of West Hartford most of his life. John was employed by the Town of West Hartford Fire Department as a firefighter for over 33 years and had retired in 1995 and had been co-owner of a landscaping company. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family. He served in the U.S. Army, 29th Infantry from 1952-1954. He is survived by two children, his son John M. Ramezzana of West Hartford, his daughter Linda R. Buslewicz and her husband Anthony M. of New Britain; a sister Mary Martino of Canton; a sister-in-law Shirley J. Ramezzana of Newington; two grandsons, Christopher Michael and Edward John and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by a brother Raymond Ramezzana.
Funeral procession will be Tuesday, (December 11), 9:30 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in S. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours will be Monday, (December 10) from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Marlene Murphy, Dr. Alessia Donadio, Nurse Joy Peccolo and all the oncology staff at St. Francis Hospital who gave loving Care to John during his illness. Also, the family would like to give a special thank you to his home caregivers, Sonia, Janet and Agnes, who comforted John in his last hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Cancer Center, 114 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105. Online condolences may be made at www.sheehanhilbornbreen.com.

When I remember Uncle John it will be his smile that stands out. That smile would just light up a room and then would come the laugh loud and hearty and you couldn't help but smile and laugh too.
