CASTELLANI, Alice Rose (Zanolli)
Alice Rose (Zanolli) Castellani, 101, of Simsbury, beloved wife of the late Victor Castellani, passed away Saturday, (November 17, 2012). Born in Southwick, MA, daughter of the late Bernardo and Regina (Castellani) Zanolli, she spent half her life in Avon and half in West Hartford. She was a communicant of the Church of Saint Ann and enjoyed gardening and ceramics. She delighted in her family and in turn was loved by everyone she touched. She leaves a son Victor B. Castellani and his wife Marianne of Boston; her daughter Regina Cirilli and her husband Robert of Simsbury, with whom she made her home the past few years; a sister Bernadette Mogridge of Avon; three grandchildren Michael Cirilli and his wife Nancy, William Cirilli and his wife Joan, and Cathleen Bradford and her husband David; ten great-grandchildren Shannon, Katrina, Saraphina, Mia, Rocco, and Sophia Cirilli, and Anna, Beatrix, Eva, and Flora Bradford; and all those special friends she treated like members of her own family. Besides her husband Victor, she was predeceased by brothers, John and Anthony Zanolli, and sisters, Isolina Castellani, Nancy Frey, Dahlia Calcagni, and Jenny Rose. Her family would like to thank Linda Pocalyko, Lorraine Giardino, and Sharon Widman as well as McLean Home Health Care for all their care and compassion.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov., 20, from 3-7 p.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. Family and friends may gather Wednesday, Nov. 21, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. directly at the Church of Saint Ann, 289 Arch Road, Avon. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Contributions may be made to either the McLean Home Health Care, 75 Great Pond Rd.
