Palma Mary (Salustro) Amara


AMARA, Palma Mary (Salustro) Palma Mary (Salustro) Amara, 90, of Newington, beloved wife of the late Joseph Anthony Amara Sr. died Sunday, (June 11, 2006). Born in Italy, daughter of the late Joseph and Carmella (Scripo) Salustro. She had resided in Hartford and Rocky Hill prior to moving to Newington. As a seamstress, she had a home clothing business and also retired from Arrow Hart Company. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Rocky Hill. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Louis and Maria Amara of Colchester, Joseph A. and Leslie Amara Jr of Chatham MA; two daughters and a son-in-law, Josephine Bouchard of Newington and Camille and Dr. Edward Mayer of Windham; a step-sister Marion Larco of Berwick ME; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Salustro; a step brother, Anthony Terranova and two step-sisters Rose Salsetro and Sally Patrick. Her family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the entire staff of Bel-Air Manor, Newington for the loving care that was given to Palma. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 331 Orchard Street, Rocky Hill, with the Rev. Dr. William Veinot officiating. Internment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers gifts in her memory may be made to St Andrew the Apostle Church.
