Richard R. Goulet(1931 - 2017)



Richard "Dick" Goulet, 85 of Newington, beloved husband of 59 years to Dolores (Iannetta) Goulet died Friday, Feb. 3rd at Hartford Hospital. Born Sept 20, 1931 in Lewiston, ME he was the son of the late Arthur and Pamela Goulet. Dick grew up in Maine moving to Connecticut in his early twenties and had lived in Newington for 51 years. He was retired from United Centerless Grinding after over 50 years of service. Upon his retirement, he took up woodworking becoming a master woodworker. He was always willing to undertake a project, be it a piece of furniture or a picture frame for family and friends. Richard became an avid runner in his early 70's, running his first Manchester Thanksgiving Day road race at the age of 81, placing 2nd in his age group. He was a loyal Boston Red Sox and New York Giants fan. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Linda Beaudoin and her husband Rick of Fort Lauderdale, Fl, a son Michael and his wife Karen of Andover, a granddaughter Ashley Wilkins and her husband Andy of Boca Raton, FL, a grandson Ryan Goulet of Coral Springs, FL, a granddaughter Melissa Goulet of Andover and a great-grandson Jacob Wilkins of Boca Raton. Richard also leaves behind his sister Irene Hadlock of Rocky Hill, brothers Normand Goulet of Florida and Maurice Goulet of Maine and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Richard will begin on Tuesday, Febuary 7, 2017, at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave, Newington at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. from St. Mary Church, 626 Willard Ave, Newington. Family and friends may call at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Richard will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery at a later date.
