Bruno Ranniello Obituary

Bruno Victor Ranniello, 82, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Susan (Bardsley) Ranniello passed away peacefully on July 5, 2018 with his family by his side. Bruno was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 16, 1936 and was the son of the late Salvatore and Rose (Fasano) Ranniello. Bruno served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed a great career as a news writer for United Press International, as well as working as a corporate spokesperson for Northeast Utilities. There were many facets to Bruno's life, he enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, loved to listen to opera music and spending time at the beach. An extremely devout catholic, Bruno attended daily mass at Sacred Heart Church, enjoyed reading scripture but most of all he was a true family man. In addition to his wife of 59 years, Bruno will be sadly missed by his son, Salvatore Ranniello and his wife Siobhan of Wethersfield along with their children Alexander and Michaela and his son Joseph Ranniello of Wethersfield and his fiancé Tracey McClean of Shelton and her son David. Bruno also leaves his brothers Mike Ranniello and his wife Marie of PA, and Jim Ranniello and his wife Antoinette of NJ. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Margaret Goldyn and brother Tony Ranniello. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 10th at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 56 Hartford Avenue, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Village Cemetery in Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, July 9th from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Memorial donations in Bruno's memory can be made to the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, 1663 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020. Please accept our sympathies. Your husband and dad always was smiling at Mass and went out of his way to say hello. We will miss seeing him at church and will continue to pray for him.

A sweetheart of a man who I know as my best friend's father in-law. Always a smile and many jokes.

Bruno, it was a pleasure to know you a teensy bit. Heidi

A truly unique and outstanding man. I will never forget our days working together at UPI. May he rest in peace.

Dear Ranniello family,
I saw Bruno at corpus christ church every
morning for prayer group. We'd talk a few
minutes about the church, family and how we
were the only two old folks who really didn't care for Florida ( despite it being about 25 degrees outside!!) Bruno thank you for being
a good person who was concerned for the
community, friends and family.You couldn't
have done a better job in being what the Lord
expected. Blessed to have known you.

Sincerely,
Barbara Olander Junokas

We looked forward to Bruno's arrival at the door, as he called out, "Qualcuno sta qui?" (anyone here?) I miss the friendly voice. He was a good paesano, always interested in stories about his family's history in our little village of Solopaca. Bruno stayed a good friend to Filippo, always patient and kind, picking him up for mass or a ride around Wethersfield and visits at the beach.
Requie en pace. (rest in peace)

"A limb has fallen from the family tree
I hear a voice that whispers, Grieve not for me
Remember the best times, the laughter, the songs
The good I lived while I was strong
Continue my heritage, Im counting on you
Keep on smiling, the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest
Remembering allhow I was truly blessed
Continue traditions, no matter how small
Go on with your lives, dont stare at the wall
I miss you all dearly so keep up your chin
Until that fine day were together again." Author Unknown
